Rafting the Ocoee River

In late September I went to Tennessee for the day for a white water rafting trip. One of my classmates organized a guided trip down the Ocoee River. This is the same river where the whitewater rafting portion of the Atlanta summer Olympics were held in '96 (I didn't even know there was such an event). We had a blast on the river. Despite the rain and overcast skies, it was beautiful. The raindrops fell on the trees surrounding us on the banks of the river and the fog moved through the hills and tall trees. I managed to stay in the boat, although there were a few close calls when Scott flew across the boat to my side. Luckily I still have all my teeth; Scott and I did not always follow directions about holding onto the plastic end of our paddles at all times! Now, the group is already planning a trip on the upper Ocoee River next August! :) Posted by Picasa
